Thanks again to everyone who entered our #RideLikeAdam #DBskimboards photo contest. We are so pleased with all the skimboarding photo submissions. We wanted to congratulate each of the winners and this first post is about Polish Skimboarder Marcin Siegel who took third place in the contest. Here's our quick Q&A with Marcin.
Q. Where was the photo taken?
A. This photo was taken at my friends house. He has built his own skimboarding track. He calls his spot South Village (Check it out here: Facebook.com/pages/South-village/549694618443437). This place is located near Pszczyna in Silesia in Poland.
Q. Who took the photo?
A. Remigiusz Miczek, owner of the above mentioned track.
Q. What were you doing in the photo?
A. As far as I understand this is a lien grab.
Q. What is your favorite thing about skimboarding?
A. First of all I like the constant contact with water. The second thing is that skimboarding is very technical sport. What I mean by that is that one can learn the basics extremely fast, but after achieving certain level, progress is a very hard work. Learning each trick requires a lot of effort, which gives you enormous satisfaction once stomped. The fact, that it requires such an effort makes me dedicate all of myself when training. This in turn, makes me forget everything else and thus is a perfect way to abreact after day(s) spent at work.
Q. What are your plans for the 2015 skimboarding season?
A. Do not loose the sense of fun (which is hard when you dedicate yourself to stomp a trick or achieve certain level) and spend as much time on board as possible. Besides that, I hope I will finally stomp a kickflip from water and my pops become higher. Thanks again Marcin and we are sending your prizes out tomorrow!
