We were stoked to have Jeremy Gonzalez of Above Seattle and Spark Creative come out to the DB Pro/AM and put together this amazing video. We also took the time to talk with Jeremy a bit about what went into the video, where you can see more of his amazing work.
Watch the video!
Q. How did you hear about the 2016 DB Pro/AM?
I've been shooting all over Seattle this summer for Seafair's #seafairissummer campaign. So I've been following lots of water sports companies online and something came across my Facebook feed about this awesome event. Even though I've never tried skimboarding I always thought it looked super fun and also fairly difficult. So I reached out to DB Skimboards and they were nice enough to let me come shoot. I really just needed a couple shots for a Seafair video but was really impressed with the talent of these guys. So I stayed and shot more just for kicks.
Q. What did you use to capture this amazing video?
Thank you for saying that about the video. I used three cameras my Canon 70D, a DJI Osmo with the x5 camera and my Phantom 3 professional.
Q. What did you think about the skimboard contest?
The Skimboard contest was awesome. Really fun to watch and the people in the competition were obviously having fun. So that made it a really fun event.
Q. Where can skimboarders find more of your epic work? (website, social, etc)
I hope they think it's epic. :) I run a content company in the PNW called Spark Creative and that you can find that at www.sparkcreativeseattle.com. I don't think the average reader would be interested in that, it's really about pitching my work. However, I've been working on a project called Above Seattle for about 2 years and you can find that on Instagram and Facebook by searching Above Seattle. There you'll find all kinds of aerial shots all over the Seattle area. It's been fun to see this page go from zero fans to almost 15k combined on insta and Facebook.
Also, if anyone is out there reading and they would like to trade some aerial work for a paddle board I'd be all over that. I know this was about skimboarding, but I'm thinking you guys all run in the same circles. :) I've really been wanting to get into paddleboarding. :) Now I'm also excited about trying out skimboarding.
Thanks again for letting me come check out the event.
